Carole Elizabeth Morris, 70, daughter of Bennett and Loleta Morris of Beeville, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2023, in Livingston, Montana. She was predeceased by her parents, Bennett, and Loleta Morris, her two sisters, Helen Cuyler of Texas, Susie Craig of California, and her long-distance companion in Maine, Paul Cole. Carole loved Paul, and found support from him, and Paul from Carole. Paul’s life also included polio, so their support and love of one another was a story-book relationship. She is survived by her four nieces, Stephany (Joel) Martens, Shannon (Shon) Lundstrom, Kimberly (John) Denson, Ashley (David) Peters, two nephews, Ronnie (Michelle) Young and John (Maria) Craig, eight great nieces, five great nephews and two great-great nephews, one great-great niece and a huge Morris clan.
Born in Beeville, Texas, Carole contracted polio at six weeks old. For the next sixty-nine years, she struggled physically to be mobile, although, that did not stop her from enjoying life. She traveled, loved photography—both taking pictures and viewing them with friends and family—and could easily be found with a smile on her face. Her constant laughter was the only way to approach life, and she did it well. Carole invested into her faith in Jesus Christ and was commonly found praying for anyone who asked for prayer, while staying connected to her prayer team via phone, text, and email.
For years Carole was assisted by her family and friends to get through each day. Her family wishes to thank everyone who gave of themselves out of love for Carole and did it with a servant’s heart. We are grateful.
Carole was cremated and will be buried in Tarpley, Texas beside her parents and one sister, Helen. Her celebration of life service is yet to be determined.
